Game of the Year Edition is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 26th, according to a new press release from Bethesda. Instead, they are making a board game, a retro decision for a game series that comes with a quasi-retro sheen.

Fallout: The Board Game is described as an adventure board game, allowing players to travel around the wasteland, ally with its various factions, and gain experience to build their characters up over time.

Game of the Year Edition won't be releasing on its own, however.

You can choose from five different explorers to play as, such as a super mutant to a member of the Brotherhood of Steel.

The package will include the base Fallout 4 game, as well as its six additions: Nuka-World, Vault-Tec Workshop, Contraptions Workshop, Far Harbor, Wasteland Workshop, and Automatron. The game's premise basically has you trying to stay alive as you explore the wastes, and you'll encounter factions along the way, which slowly expand across the map. "Welcome to the Commonwealth is the first card in the scenario depicted. completing one of the actions on this card will cause the noted effects, move the story forward, and reveal even more quests", Fantasy Flight's blog notes. The listed price is $US59.99, with a playtime running from approximately two to three hours. Fantasy Flight Games has announced that it is creating an official Fallout board game that will release later this year.
