Predicted XI v Everton in the Premier League

Everton arrive at the Etihad having won their first Premier League game of the season at home to Stoke last weekend, before Thursday's Europa League playoff victory over Hajduk Split.

Pep Guardiola's side eventually eased past Brighton in their opening fixture whilst Wayne Rooney secured Everton's win over Stoke.

While the Citizens dominated play against the Seagulls they would have liked to have created more clear-cut opportunities.

Everton posted a 4-0 shutout victory over City in last season's clash. Maybe every manager before the start of the season thinks that their team is ready and prepared but it was really a hard game.

'They play with a lot of offensive players in the teams. In the last five matches of Manchester City in English Premier League, International Champions Cup, and Friendly matches, they have won four matches and lost one match. "There is always space behind, we know that, we remember that".

It's going to be hard to see Everton get any points off Manchester City at Etihad Stadium. It was Pep Guardiola's heaviest ever defeat in league competition as a manager.

Wayne Rooney was the scriptwriter but the rest were just okay. Wayne Rooney scored the lone goal in the match in his return to his boyhood club.

Everton and Leicester City are showing interest in the highly rated attacking midfielder.

Ilkay Gundogan is optimistic about rejoining the squad for training, but the Germany worldwide will not be involved against Everton.

However, the game comes too soon for summer recruit Benjamin Mendy, as well as Fabian Delph, who are both close to returning to full fitness. New signing Gylfi Sigurdsson could make his debut for the Toffees after arriving in a record move from Swansea, but it's most likely he will start from the bench.

Provisional squad: Ederson, Bravo, Walker, Danilo, Kompany, Stones, Otamendi, Adarabioyo, Mangala, Toure, Fernandinho, Foden, Diaz, De Bruyne, D Silva, B Silva, Sane, Sterling, Jesus, Aguero.
