India's controversial head of the Central Board of Film Certification, Pahlaj Nihalani, has been replaced.

Finally every filmmaker, who has been agonized by the man called Pahlaj Nihalani, will feel relieved.

Nihalani has been the talk of town in sparking several controversies by making unreasonable cuts and embracing recent scandals in several movies.

The films that faced these irrational cuts and moral policing were the latest "Jab Harry Met Sejal" trailer (the word "intercourse" was asked to be edited), "Aligarh" (issue of homosexuality), "Dum Laga Ke Haisha" (the word "lesbian" was asked to be removed) and many more. "The Notification supersedes the earlier notification F No. M-11020/1/2014-DO (FC) dated 19th January 2015". Nihalani will be replaced by noted lyricist Prasoon Joshi. Before he was appointed the chairperson of CBFC, Nihalani produced BJP's campaign video for the 2014 general elections, Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi.

Reportedly, the CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani has been forced to leave his post, another person from the industry has been finalised to take over!

But, if we go by the current news, Joshi will be the new chief. After all, things were becoming a little too messy with the chopping and censoring of things that shouldn't be chopped or censored in the first place.

# The makers of Udta Punjab and Lipstick Under My Burkha fought very hard against CBFC to release their movies.

With the advent of Prasoon Joshi, many film-makers will breathe a sign of relief.

Meanwhile, veteran actor Raza Murad told Mirror Now, "Whatever has been done will be welcomed by the industry". This news has sent a wave of happiness across the critics of Nihalani who took to Twitter to share the joy. I am sure my well-wishers are holding their breath.

"I am happy with this decision ... this had to happen", film-maker Ashok Pandit, a member of the outgoing panel, told Reuters over the phone.
