PC Gamers Will Have to Wait a Bit Longer for Sonic Mania

It'll be released on August 15 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The new Sonic Mania PC release date will be August 29th, giving the team a couple more weeks to polish the experience. The creative team was even showing off one of the physical Collector's Edition boxes off during the live stream, showing off what console owners can expect from the package on August 15.

The old-school Sonic Mania has been eagerly anticipated by fans wanting to relive the nostalgic early days of the speedy blue hedgehog.

Sonic Mania has been delayed several times already, so this announcement certainly stings.

In other Sonic Mania news, Sega recently released a video of the game's intro.

Sonic Mania is a Sega published fan-led remix of the original Mega Drive Sonic games, created by Sega America in collaboration with Pagoda West Games, Christian Whitehead and Simon Thomley.

A third person game using pre-rendered sprites (akin to Donkey Kong Country) on polygonal backdrops, Xtreme promised a very unique take on 3D Sonic that wouldn't be tested again until 2013's Sonic Lost World. We got to see a small portion of this a few months back, so it's nice to see the full thing. Everything about it is fantastic.
