Jio Phone booking starts today; know how to register online

Pre-booking starts 24th August at 5 PM. The Jio Phone booking is beginning today.

RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani had launched the Jio feature phone at the 40 Reliance Annual General Meeting, at an effective cost of Rs 0.

The Jio Phone also supports all Indian languages so that you can use voice command, using Jio Assistant, to operate the phone like asking to dial a call or find direction using Google Maps. Details of pre-booking JioPhone through other means like Jio Stores and Jio Apps will be intimated later, a Jio customer care executive said.

Enter your Phone Number and Pincode of your area. There are claims that the users will get a partial refund on returning the handset before three years.

In case you need to book a JioPhone for your friend or family, follow the same procedure but this time include the phone number and pin code of the receiver.

The Reliance JioPhone comes pre-loaded with the Jio suites of apps including JioTV, JioMusic, JioCinema and more. In terms of GPU the phone deploys Mali 400. The company is also reported to be in talks with Chinese OEM Foxconn for the manufacturing of these phones. For the budget-minded, weekly or two-day packs start as low as 24 bucks are available.

"Despite anticipation that the phone will hold higher appeal among rural users, retailers from urban centres are aggressively placing orders for the phone".

The company has promised NFC support in JioPhone in the coming months.

#If you're booking through MyJio app, you can also make payment through Paytm, JioMoney, UPI, credit card, debit card and net banking. The users will get the same via a software update. You can configure your GMail as well as your official email account on this phone as it supports Microsoft Exchange.

How much amount a user has to pay during pre-booking?

Customers who wish to pre-book the JioPhone can do so by paying Rs 500 via Jio retailer or MyJio application.

On top of the page you will see a big banner that says "Book Jio Phone".

Once payment has been successfully done, a confirmation screen will pop up and an SMS will also be sent to the registered mobile number indicating that the device has been booked. They give preference to first booking peoples and deliver the phone based on the First Come First Serve. The company aims to have at least 5 million JioPhone units available on retail channels every week. The phone will then be released to the customers in September.
