Iheanacho was impressive on his debut for Leicester City, creating a goal for Jamie Vardy in their 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in a pre-season friendly on Friday, August 4.

"It's an wonderful opportunity for him", Henry told Sky Sports.

"I trained with him (Iheanacho) yesterday (August 3), he didn't do too much because I think he was still waiting on his move to be completed or it had just gone through, he seems like a nice guy so we're looking forward to having him on board".

In the debut, the 20-year old assisted English striker, Jamie Vardy, to grab the victor in the game that ended 2-1 in Leicester's favour.

With Iheanacho on board, however, a lot of the burden could be taken off Vardy's shoulders as the Nigerian joins him as his striking partner.

But Leicester pulled one back through Shinji Okazaki who scored for the Foxes by outjumping Granit Xhaka to head home Harry Maguire's cutback header for the Foxes' first goal of the season. Is Okazaki going to keep his place?

"You know when you have good players that there might be interest in them from other clubs but I wouldn't sleep at night if all the scenarios that you [the media] put to me happened".

"Whenever he had to do something at Manchester City, even when things were not great for the team, he delivered".

Although Leicester accept Mahrez may well depart, they are determined to hold on to their other key players, including Kasper Schmeichel and Danny Drinkwater, who will miss the Arsenal game through injury along with Iborra.

When Thierry Henry says it, you generally believe it.

The spine of the Leicester team certainly looks a lot stronger thanks to this summer's signings and it will be fascinating to see how Iheanacho fares now he has an opportunity to play regularly.
