With the inception of the Pixel series, the tech giant has offered a sophisticated lineup of features packaged in an affordable price. That didn't pan out, but It now appears the Pixel 2, as some have been calling it, will be the first handset with the upgraded chip.

Looking at the leaked information by Evan Blass, it looks like Pixel second gen smartphones' launch date would likely sync with the launch of original Pixel devices that took place in Oct 2016.

It seems we finally have a date for our tryst with Google's second generation of Pixel handsets. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 836 processor. The phones will follow last years' Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones and are all set to lead the Android markets. There are also reports that the Pixel 2 could come with the same camera as HTC U11, possibly since the company will be in charge of making the phone. If last year was any indication, there will be two Pixel devices this year as well - one smaller while the other one features a bigger build and display. This phone will be Google's latest high-end phone to compete in the premium segment. That'll make the first Pixel nearly a year old on the dot when its successor comes out, which is somewhat rare to see these days. Until then, we'll have to continue to speculate. Courtesy of Evan Blass, we now know when the devices will be announced.
