The German outlet have suggested that former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel has been lined up by the reigning Premier League champions as speculation continues to swirl about Antonio Conte's managerial position at Stamford Bridge.

SportBild, a twice weekly football magazine, and also an online presence, sound very confident in their scoop and say Tuchel is all set up to become the new coach at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel is now without a job, having left Dortmund just days after winning the DFB Pokal in May following a rift with the club's hierarchy, and has kept a low profile since.

With Conte's Chelsea future supposedly in the balance, Bild reports that there are only two managers available of the calibre required to achieve success at a large club and in the Champions League.

The manager probably thought he needed a long rest after tensions at Dortmund led to his BVB exit.

Tuchel is known for his work with young players and Conte's insistence on signing more experienced stars is an irritation to Chelsea chiefs.

Conte celebrates with his players after the Blues 2-1 victory over Tottenham at Wembley, on Sunday.

Conte's relationship with director Marina Granovskaia is said to be the root cause of the problem as Chelsea's transfer activity has left the boss frustrated.

That's nearly certainly overplaying what Granovskaia would decide, with such decisions likely being made by Abramovich.
