Steve Troughton-Smith has discovered the exact dimensions of the notch in the iPhone 8 screen in the HomePod software, Apple leaked. People are probably expecting too much from #Apple's upcoming smartphone because it will represent the tenth anniversary of the iPhone.

"I also think that the "7S" name would contribute to the notion that Apple's "S" phones are only modest updates, when the truth is that the S phones tend to get the bigger technical improvements", Gruber stated.

Apple may drop the S from the iPhone

We knew the iPhone 8 was going to be big, but we may now know exactly how large Apple's next smartphone will be.

Steve Troughton-Smith took things further and created a mockup with a notch on the bottom. The iPhone 8 looks smaller overall but it clearly has more usable screen real estate.

The iPhone 8 is set to launch next month. The iPhone 8 has a vertically aligned dual camera sensor while the 7S Plus has a similar horizontally aligned camera sensor as we saw in the iPhone 7 Plus.

Luckily, Danny Winget has come out with a great video that pits the iPhone 8 vs iPhone 7S Plus. The Copper Gold smartphone shown has white bezels on the side.

These numbers mean that we now know that the iPhone will have a screen that measures 5.8 inches diagonally - at least according to the official HomePod firmware, anyway.

The iconic physical home button is also removed. As part of the celebration, Apple is tipped to be plotting a major redesign of the iPhone, ushering in a new age of bezel-free Apple smartphones. What we all want to know is how Apple will handle navigation on the iPhone 8 without the home button.
