"This will be our 16th game (overall) in London where our events have become an annual opportunity for basketball fans across Europe to come together and share their passion for the NBA", commissioner Adam Silver said.

And this year they will witness two entertaining teams battle it out at the O2 in London on January 11.

The 2017-18 season will mark the seventh straight year that an National Basketball Association regular-season contest has been played in London.

"I look forward to coming back to London with the Sixers after visiting for the first time this summer", Embiid said in a statement.

The matchup will allow United Kingdom fans to get an up-close look at one of the NBA's most exciting young teams in the Sixers - featuring Australia's Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Markelle Fultz - and a Boston squad led by Isaiah Thomas that finished the 2016-17 regular season with the best record in the Eastern Conference.

The Boston Celtics are going across the pond. "This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our dynamic team filled with exciting global players to a fan base that has a clear passion for world-class sporting events". And if you've already paid in full (like a boss), then you'll have two options: either get a refund for the cost of that game, or have the balance credited to your account for future tickets, like if you renew for 2018-19. or want to buy playoff tickets in the spring.

The NBA announced today that the Celtics will play an Atlantic Division game across the Atlantic.

The Sixers will be designated as the home team in the game, which will be broadcast locally on Comcast SportsNet and 97.5 The Fanatic.
