Sebastian Gorka to CNN's Anderson Cooper

The US may hand two diplomatic compounds confiscated by the Obama administration back to Moscow if it sees "acts of good faith" from the Kremlin, similar to the recently brokered ceasefire in Syria, Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Trump, says.

Gorka dove right in, pointing out that the report was "laughable" and that a recent CNN chyron "talked about a crisis" in the White House, but that there was "absolutely nothing of the kind" happening.

We are pushing the "Make America Great Again" agenda, the president is a steam locomotive that can not be stopped, it's just fake news.

Gorka added that he was "sad to see CNN fall to this".

"The fact is we may not share the same philosophy, we may not share the same type of statesman view of the world but the fact is there are some issues of common concern", Gorka said. Echoing his boss' criticisms, Gorka called CNN "fake news" while mocking Cooper's ratings; the CNN host said he was using insults to avoid answering questions. "That's not reportage. It's just fake news".

Cooper demurred, though, trying to keep the interview on track: "I'm just going to ignore the insults because I don't think it gets us anywhere".

"It's about actually having journalism back on TV". "Where are the Walter Cronkites of yesteryear?" he asked.

Gorka's praise for Trump Jr.'s "transparency" in sharing the contents of his email exchange apparently exasperated Cooper.

Cuomo responded, "You tell me".

"Anderson, how many minutes are we in?" "You're concerned about how many minutes we've been talking?" You have somewhere else to go?

Gorka pushed back against Cooper's suggestion that President Donald Trump is in "bunker mode" at the White House now that Donald Trump Jr. has revealed he met with a Russian attorney who supposedly had dirt on Hillary Clinton, knowing that the meeting was pitched as part of the Russian government's effort to help the Trump campaign.

"You're falling into the fake-news trap again", Gorka replied.

"You used that line on Monday, and it was sort of mildly amusing on Monday", Cooper said in the interview.
