A new bombshell report accuses R. Kelly of holding women against their will in a sex "cult".

Kelly has been sued at least a dozen times by girls or their parents alleging sexual misconduct, but those cases have ended in settlements that include nondisclosure agreements that keep their claims off the public record.

Kelly has made plenty of headlines over the years over alleged sexual exploits and indiscretions.

Her parents, also interviewed by DeRogatis, say they are no longer able to contact her: "We've had deaths in the family, birthdays and I haven't heard from her and she hasn't been here for any of it". And now the parents are talking with police and Federal Bureau of Investigation in different states, and they've only gotten two texts from their daughter in the past year.

J. and her husband, referred to as Tim in the article, have only received texts from their daughter on Christmas Day and Mother's Day.

Additionally, three former members of R. Kelly's inner group Cheryl Mack, Kitti Jones, and Asante McGee, confirmed that the parents had every reason to be concerned about their daughters.

They say that they had to ask permission to leave their assigned rooms in his house, and are forced to give up their personal cell phones upon arriving at his compound; they are ordered to wear in "jogging suits" because "he doesn't want them to look appealling" to other men.

"Speaking to Buzzfeed, one was quoted as saying: "[Kelly] is a master at mind control. "He is a puppet master", she said of the singer.

DeRogatis' report for Buzzfeed focuses on two Georgia parents' quest to free their 19-year-old daughter from Kelly's clutches. The women are not technically missing in the eyes of the law, with all six accounted for and seemingly consenting to the alleged situation. "Please respect that." Vulture has reached out to Kelly's reps for comment.

On the tape, it's not just what Kelly said that shows his pattern of behavior with the women close to him. She recently parted ways with Kelly, these sources say. Her mother revealed harrowing details: "It was as if she was brainwashed". This woman had been high school best friends with the girl who appeared in the videotape that landed R Kelly on trial in 2008.

The families have gone to the police, who have done welfare checks, but no arrests have been made because the women were/are all past the age of consent (in both IL and Georgia) and they deny Kelly's doing them any harm. "And then from there he wanted her to travel with him so she could see how the music game really was".

A 25-year-old woman who also has been part of Kelly's scene for seven years.

Responding to BuzzFeed News, Kelly's lawyer decried the allegations as an effort to "defame" a "great artist who loves his fans". "I suppose that is the price of fame". Mack worked as R. Kelly's personal assistant for a year and half starting in 2013.

The parents used pseudonyms, but BuzzFeed claims it verified the full names and identities of the families. She stayed in a relationship with the singer for several months and his behaviour has gradually changed: it has become much more remote, has lost a lot of weight and dramatically changed hair cut on the grounds that it appealed more to R. Kelly.
