Gas prices uncertain over OPEC meet

Average prices in other neighboring states include: Alabama - $1.97, Tennessee - $2.02, Florida - $2.13, SC - $1.96.

The regional average fell by just 1 cent from last week, while the national average declined by 1.7 cents down to $2.24 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to GasBuddy, which tracks USA fuel pricing and refining activity.

GasBuddy also provided historical data about prices on July 17 in the last 5 years in Arkansas.

In Maine, it went up a penny, averaging $2.24 a gallon.

The Florida and Jacksonville average price per gallon of gas still remain lower than the national average of $2.25, AAA officials said.

That's up from the low of $1.90 a gallon on average posted July 3 in SC.

Last week the average gas price was $2.20 in Peoria, compared to today the average is sitting at $2.17. "While this could be the start of a gradual uptick in gas prices, drivers are likely to continue saving at the pump compared to what they paid earlier this year".

Most Jacksonville stations were at $2.06 a gallon Monday.

At the close of Friday's formal trading session on the NYMEX, West Texas Intermediate, a benchmark oil price, was up 46 cents to settle at $46.54 per barrel.

"Gas prices could inch a little higher this week", said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA - The Auto Club Group.

$2.36 per gallon in 2016, $2.92 per gallon in 2015, $3.89 per gallon in 2014, $3.88 per gallon in 2013 and $3.69 per gallon in 2012.

DeHaan said a special meeting OPEC has scheduled for July 27 will be watched for any policy or production changes.

San Antonio- $1.94/g, flat from last week's $1.94/g.
