President Donald Trump kicked off the weekend with a tweet announcing, "I'm being investigated for firing the Federal Bureau of Investigation director by the man who told me to fire the Federal Bureau of Investigation director". Fox News anchor Chris Wallace seized on a mistake made by Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow, and dunked on him using his own words.

The interview became lively when Sekulow seemed to contradict himself, suggesting that Trump was under investigation after firing Comey on the recommendations of the attorney general and deputy attorney general. "That is impossible. The president cannot be investigated - or found liable - for actions taken he clearly has to do under the Constitution", he concluded. Cuz the special counsel under the special counsel regulations reports still to the Department of Justice-not an independent counsel. "So he's being investigated for taking the action the attorney general and deputy attorney general recommended him to take by the agency that recommended the determination".

Sekulow: No, Chris, I said that - let me be crystal clear so you completely understand. I didn't say investigation, YOU said investigation...the Washington Post said investigation...

Sekulow joined Trump's personal legal team, which includes Marc Kasowitz, Trump's go-to lawyer for years on both personal and business matters; Mark Bowe, who works with Kasowitz; and newly hired John Dowd, a well-known DC-based attorney. "That is protected under the constitution", Sekulow argued.

"I can't read people's minds, but I can tell you this, we have not been notified that there's an investigation of the president of the United States". Sekulow again repeated that he can not read minds. "I don't think you should be rushing the stage, period, whether you agree or not". "You don't know whether he's under investigation or not".
