Turkey's Erdogan to discuss Qatar dispute with Trump, minister says

An exception is made for private planes and charter flights to or from Qatar, which require permission to transit through the airspace of the three countries, the statements said.

Qatar Airlines, a major global flight operator, is no longer allowed to use the airspace above Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE.

The Eritrean ministry of information said Monday that the current Gulf crises is not a matter that requires invitation of the Eritrean government or solicitation of its vote.

Earlier Doha's 1 million population and their dairy needs were facilitated by Saudi Arabia but after the split, the transport routes were cut off by UAE and their two other allies. Qatar, which has yet to retaliate in the crisis, also could turn off supplies to those now opposing it as well, especially the United Arab Emirates, home to Dubai. Al Thani has visited multiple European countries in recent days seeking diplomatic support.

Pakistani TV showed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and General Qamar Javed Bajwa arriving in Riyadh on June 6.


"I want the American people to realise that they are trying to intimidate a small country which has the closest relation with the United States", Baker said.

Bahrain, the Maldives, and Egypt recently broke off ties with Qatar, accusing Doha of supporting terrorism, an accusation that the Qatari government denies.

It added in a statement that the current tensions around Qatar, "exacerbate the hard situation in the entire Middle East region".

Qatar and Iran share the largest underwater natural gas field in the world.


Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi tells reporters in a weekly news conference: "These countries should try to settle their differences at the negotiating table in a positive and comprehensive process".

Qatar is a huge import country, especially for perishable goods (mainly food).

Still, Jubeir says Saudi Arabia is willing to provide food and medical supplies through the King Salman Center, a Saudi humanitarian agency. French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian is scheduled to talk Monday with his Qatari counterpart.

Other countries, including Gulf state Kuwait, have joined in attempts to heal the rift in the region.

Thani insisted that Qatar was eager to take part in "dialogue based on clear foundations" over the split, and would discuss anything related to Gulf security.


"Qatar Airways continues to operate to the rest of its network as per its published schedules with day-to-day adjustments for operational and commercial efficiencies", he said, without elaborating further.
