The US president told a crowd on Wednesday night: "Somebody said why did you appoint a rich person to be in charge of the economy?" The capital is consumed with the investigation into Russian meddling in last year's election and Trump's firing of his FBI director.

The president called attention to the victories Tuesday night by Republicans Karen Handel in Georgia and Ralph Norman in SC.

The president, who often bemoans Democrats who stage protests against him and his agenda, received one of his biggest applauses of the night when he made a veiled reference to what would happen if his supporters held such protests.

Branstad "loves the state and the people so much, and together we all join to express our deep gratitude to Terry for everything he has done for Iowa and for its people". They haven't figured it out yet.

Innovative farming tools depend on access to the web, which has lagged in rural areas because "the private sector hasn't found an economic way into some parts of the country", Starling said on a conference call.

Campaign rallies energize Trump by placing him in front of supporters who have stuck by him and are likely to dismiss the investigations as Beltway chatter.

He touted his hardline immigration policies, those that have benefited the fossil fuel industry and his recent move to withdraw from the landmark Paris climate accord, which earned him hefty criticism from almost all of his fellow world leaders.

Trump also told the crowd that he is contemplating putting solar panels on the wall that he has pledged to build on the U.S. -Mexico border. "We want to move forward quickly".

"After years of sending our jobs and our wealth to other countries, we are finally standing up for our country", Trump said to thunderous applause.

The White House is making a renewed push to get the president out of Washington.

On the eve of Trump's rally, former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel defeated Democrat Jon Ossoff in the special election for Georgia's 6th Congressional District, denying Democrats the chance to flip a solidly Republican district on the hopes that Trump's rising unpopularity could sink congressional Republicans.

"All the Fake News, all the money spent = 0", Trump tweeted in one of a half-dozen tweets about Tuesday night's contests, which also included a less-hyped race for a SC congressional seat. Trump ridiculed Democrats for failing to secure a single win in the handful of special congressional elections that have been held this year.

"He knows what he's doing", said Lucy, who was wearing a "Make American Great Again" cap and Trump T-shirt. "All the Fake News, all the money spent = 0", Trump tweeted in one of a half-dozen tweets about Tuesday night's contests, which also included a less-hyped race for a SC congressional seat.
