Actress Shraddha Kapoor has commenced her badminton training to play former world No.1 badminton champion Saina Nehwal in an upcoming biopic.

While news reports about a biopic on Saina Nehwal in the making have been doing the rounds for a while, only recently things started falling into place.

The movie is based on the life of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna victor Saina, and will have Shraddha play the role of the celebrated sports star. Shraddha's training regime will happen at Bengaluru's Prakash Padukone Academy, where a senior coach will tutor her on the basics of badminton.

Meanwhile, Amole's prep for the Bhushan Kumar-produced film has been just as extensive. The shooting of the biopic will begin in the end of 2017. "Saina has spent her whole life playing badminton and in the next few months, I have to get close to the standards she's set" she said. And it is for this reason that the Baaghi actress is gearing up to start her training in badminton. After spending a year-and-a-half on research, flitting between Mumbai and Hyderabad, Saina's hometown, Amole had told Mirror, "Besides meeting Saina's close associates, I gathered videos of her to understand her personality. Her killer instinct is inspiring, she is the tigress beti of India who has made us proud".
