The "insider" wouldn't reveal where in NY the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will launch or on which exact day, but it's likely it'll be similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8's Unpacked launch back in March.

We previously heard a rumor that the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 would be made official some time in August and now we have some details about a possible date for Samsung's launch event for the handset.

According to a report from Naver, citing an unnamed Samsung official, the company will make the alleged Galaxy Note 8 official in NY.

The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is the inclusion of the S Pen stylus (featuring a 0.7mm tip and 4,096 pressure levels), as well as an all-new glass design. In order to expedite the release of the Note 8 for consumers around the world, we're assuming that the company might attempt to unveil the phone as quickly as possible to get an early lead against the iPhone 8.

Samsung was also believed to have been able to mass produce the 6.3-inch Infinity Display on the Note 8 with an embedded fingerprint scanner, but that may now not be the case. Still, this new development adds more weight to previous reports that had suggested the phablet will be unveiled in late August and start selling in early September.

2/6/17: A report from Dutch website GalaxyClub.nl has some more info on the Galaxy Note 8. The tablet runs on Android Nougat operating system.

It's not clear whether Samsung will be just as picky as to where it sells the Galaxy S8 Active, but if you live outside the USA you probably shouldn't get too excited just yet.

The device will be available in black and silver colours across retail stores, starting June 20.

On similar lines, Samsung plans on equipping the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone with a dual rear camera set-up. Galaxy Tab S3 is packed with 13MP AF is primary camera and 5.0MP with Flash front camera.

The person did not elaborate further on the phone including pricing.
