Philadelphia 76ers Talking Draft Pick Trade

Last week, I wrote an article when the rumors first surfaced about the Celtics wanting to trade the number one overall pick.

Prior to Kentucky guards Malik Monk and De'Aaron Fox, and then Washington guard Markelle Fultz visiting last week, Sixers president Bryan Colangelo said the Sixers had either seen or scheduled visits with almost all of the high-level prospects but that some agents didn't want that information made public.

"I think he's super talented", said Bird, who played against Fultz in a Pac-12 game this season.

"We are certainly aware of our competition", Ainge said. The Aussie missed all of last season with a foot injury. Forward Jahlil Okafor struggled with a balky knee.

Danny Ainge said on a conference call that the player they select at #3 is likely the player that they would have taken at #1.

That's what he's saying to the media, which is a good thing. Others believe that there still could be an National Basketball Association trade in the works behind the scenes.

And that means the Celtics could be gearing up for more moves soon. Again, it is somewhat circumstantial that we're here.

So if Boston Celtics GM is sure they can get "Markelle Fultz" at No. 3, then there's only one reason why the Philadelphia 76ers chose to exchange their No. 3 pick along with future first round draft pick - UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball. The projected top-five pick is placing the blame on the team.

This is a particularly crucial draft for the Sixers. Star center Joel Embiid has been leading the "Trust the Process" charge, and you can bet the attitude will stick with the 76ers as long as they continue to build around their current core.

Philadelphia will hold the No. 1 pick for the second straight year.

The Philadelphia 76ers obtained the top pick in the NBA Draft from the Boston Celtics on Monday, June 19 (Tuesday Manila time) both teams officially completing a deal agreed upon and revealed over the weekend. Reports regarding hesitancy about Markelle Fultz and no desire to add a guard have flooded the internet.

"It's great excitement, obviously", Colangelo said of the buzz of having the top pick. It just depends on how much they are willing to sacrifice for George.

Griffin's departure comes on the anniversary of the Cavs' dramatic Game 7 win over Golden State, capping a historic comeback that gave Cleveland its first major professional sports championship since 1964. Griffin orchestrated the trade that brought Kevin Love from Minnesota, and he bolstered the Cavs' roster with other trades and free agent signings.
