From there, we see Harrison Ford return as Rick Deckard, along with holograms the size of skyscrapers, insane weather and much more.

Villeneuve took on "Blade Runner 2049" which stars Ryan Gosling as LAPD Officer K, Harrison Ford is back as Rick Deckard but "it still doesn't answer the question if Deckard is a replicant or not" Villeneuve told Reuters at an event on the sidelines of CineEurope in Spain on Monday.

Though the plot details are sparse and the featurette doesn't expand on those, this three minute video will likely be reassuring to fans as the visual universe it portrays is one that seems at the same time wonderfully familiar but also excitingly new.

The story of Blade Runner 2049 follows Officer K, Los Angeles Police Department officer who discovers a grand conspiracy to destroy all of civilization. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

It's not every day that someone gets to walk in Ridley Scott's shoes.

It turns out that Ford, Gosling, Scott, Jared Leto, and pretty much every crew member of the sequel are on the same page: They know it's a huge challenge, putting out a sequel to a benchmark movie 35 years after it initially played in theaters, and they're more than up for it. "Blade Runner revolutionized the way we view science fiction", Villeneuve says.

"When I heard that Ridley was continuing the narrative, I was already invested".

"We are running towards the finishing line right now". "It's not just a replica of the first film", Inglis said.
