Militants kill two Navy personnel in Pakistan

The sailors were transporting iftar items from the Jiwani city when their vehicle was attacked by four assailants riding two motorbikes.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Pakistan Navy personnel near Jiwani on Monday.

Security forces cordoned off the area and kicked off search operation. He vowed to take action against the attack and punish those responsible. "The other two suspects fled under cover of darkness", officials said.

The naval official reiterated the anti-terror resolve, saying: "Miscreants can't shatter our morale with such acts of cowardice".

In their separate messages, the duo showed their determination to restore peace in the region which has always been plagued by miscreants. "These elements would be wiped out of society", the top administrators stated.

In May, at least 10 labourers were killed in Balochistan's Gwadar district when unidentified assailants opened fire at the construction site where they were working, Levies sources said. "They would be remembered", the governor and the CM said.

Gwadar port and Baluchistan remain an integral part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and both countries have agreed to boost security for the people, including Chinese nationals, working on different projects under the Dollars 50 billion project.

The shooting incident occurs after Pakistan and China have inked agreements aimed at boosting cooperation in various sectors between the two countries.

The Gwadar port and Baluchistan are an integral part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
