The departure of Cabello, one of the founding members, late a year ago proved to be a messy affair-as each camp seemed to have a drastically different view on exactly what happened.

Asked when she knew it was time to quit Fifth Harmony, she said: "I think it happened to me as I was discovering my voice as an artist". Ally Brooke Hernandez also opened up about the album's upcoming release, stating, "We're really experimenting with a lot of different sounds". "It really is pretty versatile". Since departing from Fifth Harmony in December and going solo, the singer has dropped two singles, announced an album, performed at several award shows and collaborated with music hitmakers Pitbull, J Balvin and Major Lazer.

She explained: "We just can't wait for people to hear it, honestly".

"We [co-] wrote more than half of our album", adds Normani Kordei. We put our own music on repeat, and that never really happens. "We've never played it that much before".

She said: "I feel awesome and I felt like I needed to go through it".

During the interview, Cabello also revealed her new song, "I Have Questions", was written during "probably the lowest part in my life so far".

Lauren told HOT 97: "This world is our reality, we create the reality that we exist in so if everyone can just think about what they're doing and think about what's going on and really care about it for just a second of their time".
