Portions of the deposition became public almost two years ago and played a major role in prosecutors' decision to charge him. Although almost 60 women have levied allegations of sexual assault against him - all of which Cosby and his legal team have vehemently denied - it was the first time he faced a criminal charge. So she's in control I'm not going to argue with someone.I apologized twice.

"What was happening at that time [in the 1970s] was that at that time Quaaludes happened to be the drugs kids, young people were using to party with, and there were times when I wanted to have them just in case", he said.

They capped a five-day presentation in Norristown highlighted by Constand's testimony on the witness stand and several potentially damaging admissions from Cosby himself, picked from the deposition he gave for a lawsuit she filed against him in 2005. Her testimony was introduced to deflect attacks on Constand, who defense attorneys have sought to impeach by pointing to her late report to police one year after the alleged sexual encounter as well as her continued contact with Cosby after she alleged he sexually assaulted her.

The 79-year-old entertainer could spend the rest of his life in prison if he's convicted of drugging and molesting a woman at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

Prosecution rests case against Bill. Constand did not go to police until a year after the alleged assault.

Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby was terrified that Andrea Constand's mom thought he was a "dirty old man".

O'Neill ruled the testimony permissible and rejected the request.

Cosby also anxious about the repercussions from public disclosure. He explained that physical contact between them on the night of the assault gave him the indication he had her consent. Cosby was asked in the deposition.

"I'm first thinking the mother is coming at me for being a dirty old man, which is bad", he said in the deposition regarding his conversation with the Constands. But there was something she wanted from him - something he was willing to give.

Cosby testified that Constand was "talking about stress" and that he gave Constand Benadryl, "the equivalent of one and a half".

Cosby also recounted calling Constand's family and offering her money for graduate school.

Mr Cosby - the legendary comedian and television star - is on trial this week for allegedly sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, a former employee of his alma mater. The comedian contends that his relationship with Constand was consensual, and that the broken Benadryl tablets he admits to giving her on the night she says the assault took place were only meant to help her sleep. Prosecutors have suggested he drugged her with something stronger, perhaps quaaludes. The Philadelphia trial is the only criminal case against Cosby.

Bill Cosby, center left, accompanied by Joe Torry, center right walks from the Montgomery County Courthouse during his sexual assault trial in Norristown, Pa., Thursday, June 8, 2017. Doing so would carry enormous risk for Cosby, exposing him to cross-examination about some of the lurid things in his deposition.

At one point, Andrea Constand got on the phone, and while Cosby says that part was his idea, he describes being at a loss for words as for what to say or do next, especially once Gianna described how her daughter was acting as if she had been through something traumatic.
