My fiancee wrote in the auto, 'When you keep God in the first place, he will take you places you never imagined.' And I never imagined to be here at the 600 victory lane.

"Yeah, I saw parts and pieces flying", Elliott said. We're in the Chase.

Cup Series leader Kyle Larson, who finished second in the All-Star race last week, has suggested moving both to generate driver and fan interest. "Everybody on this Bass Pro Toyota did a heck of a job today". I don't know. There's nothing we could've done different.

It was a devastating at the time for Earnhardt and took him weeks to get over, but he now says the loss “doesnt weigh on him much.”. We did what we needed to do and it wasn't - it wasn't the right game. "It is what it is". But Harvick, who won here in 2011 and 2013, held strong to end in eighth. By the final two laps, he had nothing left in the tank. "Like I said, fast cars, we'll keep coming back with them, hopefully get some more wins".

"When he ran out, I figured I'd go back in and save where I was lifting and it worked out", Dillon said.

"I did all that I could from that point and just came up a little bit short", he said. "Had a couple of weird things go on, on some restarts where I lost some track position".

Third stage: Denny Hamlin won the third stage, even as Truex continued to dominate, leading 195 of the first 300 laps. It was enough to spoil what would have been his third win of the year, and send him plummeting down the leaderboard.

Childress wasn't going to let just anyone drive the iconic black No. 3 Chevrolet following the death of the legendary Earnhardt 16 years ago.

Truex has now led 625 of a possible 800 laps in the past two Coca-Cola 600s.

Dillon was one of several to try an alternative strategy, staying out at the last round of green-flag pitstops to try and make the end of the race.

Bad weather caused the lengthy stoppage on lap 143.

Alongside the nine cautions, the race was also disrupted by a long red flag period after 143 laps due to a heavy rain shower. What did it mean for a driver to get his first win?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Larson are now co-favorites with 5/1 odds while Martin Truex listed with 11/2 odds to win tonight.

Busch retook the lead from Truex inside the final 10 laps of the opening stage.

Johnson pitted for fuel for the last time on Lap 330. That wasn't the big talking point from the first 100 laps, though, as Jeffrey Earnhardt's disintegrating auto knocked a hole in Chase Elliott's No. 24.

"I made a mistake", he said. "I know Dale is up there smiling down because he would want this win, he'd want to see it with Austin". I hit it pretty hard. “For whatever reason its really been tough for me.

"Somebody broke and there was just oil everywhere and I couldn't turn", Keselowski said. Ryan Hunter-Reay, Alexander Rossi, and Fernando Alonso were among the top five throughout the race, pacing the field for a combined 78 laps, but Rossi was the only one to finish the race. After failing to get through pre-qualifying inspection, Larson was forced to start Sunday from the back of the field. Martin Truex Jr. was third after leading 233 of 400 laps. He also is a four-time victor of this very event.

However, he was able to score a stage win and take the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series points lead. It was his first win at CMS in a Cup Series vehicle.
