The 53-year-old ex-England worldwide also warned fans of the north London club who are upset at a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League that things could get even worse.

Tomorrow, the Arsenal board will meeting to review the past season, look to the team's future and, most crucially, determine the future of one Arsene Wenger.

Wenger has been heavily criticised this season, with Arsenal fans calling for his resignation after their team failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.

However, they managed to win FA Cup after beating English Premier League champions Chelsea 2-1 in the final at Wembley.

He has faced unprecedented criticism during a season in which the Gunners finished outside the Premier League's top four for the first time in his reign.

After that loss, Wenger said he had made a decision on his future which he would announce "very soon". I don't think they're going to be anywhere near the title. "The players play for their future, for their next season", Wenger said.

"It's not about popularity, it's about competence", Wenger said after winning FA Cup final.

Now, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he'll be sticking around for at least two more years, via a multi-year extension with the London side.

Instead, it is believed there will be restructuring behind-the-scenes and Wenger, along with Kroenke, will reveal their plan to have Arsenal challenging for the Premier League title in the next two seasons.

'I just hope if and when he decides to go he kind of does himself because I don't want people to feel badly about him and I hope he doesn't spoil that. "If he doesn't run to the ball, I can go out and claim the ball but now because he runs I stop and then Sanchez takes advantage".

But once the game starts and you are a fan, you stand behind the team.

But in hanging onto his job against the odds, Wenger is missing yet another ideal opportunity to walk away on a high. "I invite you to live with me one day and one thing you can not question is my commitment". "I've never seen him so animated".
