The Utter Incompetence Of The Trump White House

The only thing dumber than firing the FBI Director who is investigating his campaign for potential treason would be for Trump to fire his senior White House staff, many of whom know things about the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

Among those also expected to be coming were acting Federal Bureau of Investigation director Andrew McCabe, Michael J. Garcia, an associate judge on New York's highest court, and GOP Sen. After filling in for four days, the word was Sarah Huckabee Sanders was gunning for the job, and a weak semi-vote-of-confidence from Trump on behalf of Spicer did little to ease the speculation.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders speaks during the daily press briefing on May 10, 2017.

Trump is also irritated with several Cabinet members, the sources said.

Sanders told reporters on Wednesday that "the rank and file of the Federal Bureau of Investigation had lost confidence" in James B. Comey, who had been fired as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation a day earlier.

Spicer did not respond to a request for comment.

But although Spicer and Huckabee Sanders may be earning their boss's scorn, no one, according to the New York Times and sources close to the administration, is really looking forward to taking on the role as Trump's public voice. On Thursday, she said, "I've heard from countless members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation that are grateful and thankful for the president's decision".

Hannity later fumed: "If the propaganda "destroy Trump" media, if they're going to smear and slander him and his administration and his family and lie about facts and what he's done, why bother?"

"Look, it may just be that the president is trolling the press corps and saying "Work yourself into a frenzy about all this" and turns out it's nothing", continued Wallace.

"That's correct - I mean, I can't, I guess I shouldn't say that, thank you for the help on that one". "He was asked specifically, 'Is there a recording device in the Oval Office of the President of the United States?' He said, 'I have nothing for you on that'".

Across the Potomac River at the Pentagon, the White House press secretary has been working in a back office under a different title: Navy Cmdr. Still, the famously TV conscious president has been impressed with Spicer's ability to draw high ratings for the historically mundane ritual that is the White House briefing. Republicans often decide rather than fixing something they will just get rid of it (see: ObamaCare).

In a sudden move late Tuesday night, Trump fired Comey, who had six more years left in his term.

In a statement on Tuesday, the White House said Comey's termination was based on the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
