Stadium officials had a wheelchair waiting for Parker after he entered the tunnel that leads to the locker room.

The win may have come at a cost though, with Tony Parker (18 points) suffering a knee injury. Now, in Game 2 Harden seemed to be affected by a hip injury he suffered early in the game, and didn't have his usual explosiveness and jump, which prevented him from exposing the Spurs' big men consistently. "I'm not saying that they don't have good enough players to step in, but what he brought to that team, I think it's unmatched". Parker, 34, averaged 15.9 points and 3.1 assists this postseason.

"I just missed shots", Harden said. "And tonight I just tried to take my shots and be confident and even if they didn't fall I just stayed with it".

Game three is in Houston on Friday. Capela finished with 12 points and 16 rebounds.Houston lost for the first time at home this postseason after winning their first three games. Most of it comes down to loose balls and rebounds. The San Antonio Spurs are shooting 39.1 percent from beyond the arc and 82.3 percent from the free throw line.

"What is hard is to see him limping and hurting now", said Manu Ginobili, who has played 15 seasons with Parker. "We played at our pace, not theirs".

To discuss all of that, and more, the latest episode of the Posting Up podcast caught up with Jeff McDonald, the Spurs beat writer for the San Antonio Express-News.

Rockets: Houston had scored 100 points in every playoff game this season. The last time a player put up at least 30 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds while shooting 80 percent from the field in a playoff game: Michael Jordan in Game 2 of the 1991 NBA Finals.

"It's not good", coach Popovich said after the game. Nene was ejected from the game.

The Spurs also have shown a tendency to run the point through Kawhi Leonard on occasion.

Harden scored 20 points in the Game 1 win, but it was his 14 assists that highlighted Houston's performance.

Perhaps most disappointing is that Parker had found another gear in the playoffs after an underwhelming regular season, two weeks before his 35th birthday.

Aldridge had managed just 19 points combined in the first two games, but stepped up in the wake of Parker's season-ending leg injury, scoring nine points in the fourth quarter to help the Spurs pull away.

"He has the presence just like T.D". Backup Patty Mills will likely absorb between 5 and 10 of them, but he's a fundamentally different type of guard from Tony. "He was rolling the last month going back to his old self".
