Michael Rooker Explains Why Guardians 2 is better still Than the First

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is an American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team "Guardians of the Galaxy", produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. James Gunn, returning to the director's chair, ramps up all the ingredients that made the original a hit including the quirky charm, humour, wild and convention breaking characters, pop culture references and the joyous retro soundtrack (just wait until you see the opening sequence). You shouldn't need a calculator to know that means the film is set in 2014 in MCU terms.

After Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pratt is still set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, the till-untitled Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Like the first "Guardians" film, "Vol. 2" is loaded with nostalgic songs from the 1970s, which once again sets the flawless tone during the entire picture. I was afraid that to make a huge commercial movie, I had to make it like other movies. This hardly matters in the overall scheme of things since the Guardians' adventure is taking place on far-flung world, though it's interesting to note that Ego's device he planted on Earth does activate and threaten a bunch of people, something you figure would have caught the Avengers' attention (though it also ends quickly, and this wouldn't need Earth's Mightiest Heroes to actually mobilize).

He said: "At the end of the day, we're telling a long-form story that has many different moving parts and within those stories there's a lot of freedom to do what you want". Assuming that movie takes place in year 2018 of the MCU timeline, almost four years will have passed since Vol. 2. The title was then rebooted in 2008 with characters like Star-Lord, Groot, Drax, Gamora, and Rocket, and the rest is history. All of, say, Black Panther might not take place in 2018. But this is more than made up for with the character development and sense of camaraderie, plus it is probably the funniest comic book movie out there.
