Jesse Lingard says Manchester United did not meet their preseason targets to win the Premier League title or finish inside the top four but he believes their form this season showed they "we're capable of anything".

"We will learn a lot from it and we will become stronger, and, if we can keep this squad together, we will be stronger next season, for sure".

In fact, they may even look to raid some of their nearest rivals this summer, and one side they could look at is Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham, so here are TWO Spurs stars United must try and land in the upcoming transfer window...

Victory enabled Mourinho, who said prior to the game that he and his players were struggling not to think about the tragedy, to bring his maiden Old Trafford season to a successful conclusion.

"There's a big difference in the physical way they (United) play, but it's not a matter of strength - it's how you use your body, which we have to learn".

"Obviously in the last games, we focused on this game and we drop some points".

"It's one of the trophies I haven't won in my career and it would be wonderful to win it with United", former Chelsea favourite Mata said.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is close to making a decision about future at the Premier League club but will take a few weeks to contemplate his options.

Manchester United's English striker Wayne Rooney celebrates after the Uefa Europa League final football match Ajax Amsterdam v Manchester United on May 24, 2017 at the Friends Arena in Solna outside Stockholm.

He again declared that having played for United, and started his career at Everton, the club he supports, he would not play for another top-flight club in England, having previously considered offers from Manchester City and Chelsea.

"Now I am here at Manchester United, I'm in and want to stay here".

The ever-present Pogba, meanwhile, was described as the "complete midfield player" and Blind drew praise for his "excellent reading of the game in the final [which] helped to nullify Ajax's potent attack".
