The "American Idol" reboot is underway and one of the superstar judges of the ABC revamp of the series has been revealed. She recently announced that $1 of every ticket sale for her upcoming Witness album tour will be going to the Boys and Girls Club of America.

Of MTV's decision, AllMusic wrote, "It makes ideal sense that MTV Unplugged chose Katy, since it benefits them both: she approaches the show with the respect it once garnered, while she uses the show as a way to rebrand herself as a serious pop auteur".

Katy Perry will be a judge on the 2018 revival of TV singing competition American Idol.

"I had an incredible time on that show, and am blessed to have been part of it from the beginning but I think that they need to do a whole reboot", Paula explained.

Perry, 32, debuted her blonde pixie cut in March after deciding to ditch her trademark dark brunette hair which she had sported for several years.

However, if we're being honest, all of her answers were not the best thing about the encounter. But before the game started, Perry jokingly expressed some reservations.

I told my hairstylist "I want the Ellen" and I got it. DeGeneres then replied, "You were not married!", before being reminded that Perry was once married to Brand. "I was when I was 25. Obviously the marriage didn't last for a very long time and I think that is to do with the undulating nature of fame".

"Katy: ".no wrinkles, no lines".

Ellen: "Oh that's right, I forgot about Russell".

Perry, the daughter of evangelical Pentecostal pastors, has been candid in the past about her sheltered upbringing. The singer released the album's two lead singles, the dancehall-inflected "Chained to the Rhythm" (featuring Skip Marley) and "Bon Appetit", which features rap trio, Migos, of "Bad and Bougee" fame.
