LeBron James considered swigging a beer while scoring 35 points, Kyrie Irving added 24 and the Cleveland Cavaliers picked up where they left off following a long layoff and throttled the Toronto Raptors 116-105 on Monday night in the opener of their Eastern Conference semifinal.

DeRozan scored just five points on 2 of 11 shooting, putting up only one point in the first three quarters, when the game was decided.

Lowry walked off the court and into the locker room before briefly returning to the bench.

In Cleveland's last nine playoff wins, James is averaging 34.9 points, 10 rebounds and 8.1 assists. "We've just got to find that feeling", DeRozan says.

The Cavaliers have won nine straight playoff games dating back to past year when they trailed Golden State 3-1 in the NBA Finals and rattled off three straight victories to bring The Land it's first professional sports championship since 1964. “Theyll respond, ” coach Mike DAntoni said.

Wearing his All-Star Game slippers before practice, a useful reminder that Toronto has some firepower in this series, too, Lowry took no solace in his competent Game 1 of 20 points and 11 assists. These two guys will be the difference-makers in the series.

What time does the Toronto Raptors vs Cleveland Cavaliers Game 2 Start? Earning the label "Trash Bros", the two played terribly in first-round exits to the Wizards and Nets before finally getting it together past year and leading the Raptors to the Eastern Conference finals. Then, after splitting four free throws, James buried a pull-up three-pointer from the right wing. "We have another gear to get to that I don't think we got to last night". On Wednesday, he scored 39 points on 14 shots, the only player to do that in a playoff game since 1984, other than Portland's Terry Porter in 1992.

Some of this can chalked up to Casey trying to remain positive about his team surrendering yet another huge total to the Cavaliers - Cleveland has averaged 114 points against the Raptors in home playoff games, and nearly 64 points in the first half of those games.

It was done. I don't believe in that. "But we're a good team, too, had the same record (51-31)", Casey said. The Raptors went on to win it 4-2. But they didn't work simply because the Raptors couldn't contain James.

"I've seen where some people predicted and predicted wrong, so to speak. But our anticipation, our level of force has another gear to go to that we didn't display".

NEED TO KNOW: The Cavaliers are 5-0 in this postseason and 29-4 against Eastern Conference opponents dating to 2015.

"It sucks. It sucks", DeRozan said.

What will be interesting to see is how both teams look in Game 2. It was a typically nonsensical performance; you can probably count on one hand the players in National Basketball Association history who you could expect to record numbers like that in a playoff game. “But lose by 40, lose by two, at the end of the day, its a loss.

Cleveland is the defending champion, after all.
