Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now being developed.

Guardians Vol. 2 came out in many worldwide markets, including the United Kingdom, a week before its USA release, and has already totaled $427 million globally, reports Variety.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was produced with an estimated budget of $200 million.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 made over $106 million internationally in its first weekend at the box office. It's biggest takes came from China with $48 million, the United Kingdom with $35.7 million, Germany with $18.4 million, Australia with $17.2 million, and France with $16.1 million. A development such as that makes it seem as if the character is set to return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (which James Gunn has already started writing and will be returning to direct), but now there is a confirmation.

Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opened to a box office of $145 million Friday through Sunday, according to The Hollywood Reporter, giving Marvel its fifth biggest opening at American theaters behind two instalments of The Avengers franchise, Iron Man 3 and 2016's Captain America: Civil War.

Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. "Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes" aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

For one thing, his creator in the movie universe appears to be Ayesha, high priestess of the Sovereign, who is cooking up her "Adam" in a birthing pod during the end credits with plans to unleash him on the Guardians, with whom she has a score to settle. Even so, the events happening in this galaxy are considered to be contemporary with what is happening in the Marvel films, at least up until the first film, which was released in 2014.
