Chelsea wins English Premier League after beating West Brom

Chelsea have clinched the Premier League title with a 1-0 win over West Bromwich.

The final whistle sparked wild celebrations among Chelsea's fans, and manager Antonio Conte was tossed high into the air by his squad.

"I think that we have also another target to try to reach because we worked very hard to reach the final of the FA Cup and then it's important to prepare in the right way for next season". In my mind there was this option to play a 3-4-3 because I knew I had the players to do that.

Conte, who has now won the Premier League title in his very first season in England, attributed the success to his players' commitment and work rate.

"And in that moment it was frustrating for me and I found the strength to change, to take responsibility, to change system and find a new suit for these players".

The Italian was injured in the celebrations and he said: "In those moments anything can happen. Every single player found in this system the best for them".

And Costa held a fire extinguisher aloft in the direction of journalists as he attempted to speed up proceedings and resume celebrations with the head coach who had steered Chelsea to a second title in three years after last season's 10th-placed finish.

"If you asked me if in my first season I would have this type of finale, I don't know because our season did not start in the right way with many problems". We've had a turn-around at the club this season.

Tottenham have only three matches available to them and the maximum points they can accumulate are 86 - one less than Chelsea's current points tally of 87 with two games to go.

"Conte works with passion every day".

The Chelsea boss' influence on his side was also acknowledged by West Brom counterpart Tony Pulis.

"They're worthy champions alright", he said. But Conte steered his side to a 13 game winning run which saw them top the table at Christmas and they have never looked like getting caught.

"He changed their shape and they've been superb from that moment onwards".
