On his first full day in office, Trump sent Spicer to lecture the press on the size of the crowd that attended his inauguration. The White House insisted Thursday that a plan was in the works but did not offer any timetable.

Trump told reporters that defeating terrorism in "Iraq or Libya or anywhere else" is a "primary role" for his administration, and he described shootings of a policeman and a gunman in Paris Thursday as terror attacks, hours before French President Francois Hollande announced the same conclusion.

In October 2016, he tweeted the details of his "100 Day Plan" which included tax reform, repealing and replacing Obamacare, ending illegal immigration, fixing Social Security, cleaning up corruption in Washington, and a slew of other proposed laws. "The methods, tools and tactics we use to keep America safe should not be a public discussion that will benefit those who seek to do us harm".

The president appeared to put some teeth behind that promise in the first weeks of his term, convening a cyber-security panel on January 31 that included former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

'I'd like to say next week, but.believe we will get it, ' Trump said. And the subject of election hacking is an awkward one for Trump since USA intelligence agencies have concluded that the Russians' interference was an attempt to help the Republican businessman win in November. A handful of presidents, facing extraordinary crises - FDR and Obama, for example - managed to complete some historic tasks in their first 100 days, but as a rule, it's better to evaluate presidencies over whole terms, not the first few months.

The only one of those 10 legislative items introduced to this point is the US House healthcare bill, which Trump embraced only to see collapse in dramatic fashion last month. He said the plan should be a high priority for the Trump administration.

US President Donald Trump had a "contract" with American voters. "But inside his pressure cooker of a White House, aides and advisers are sweating the next three weeks. The date, April 29, hangs over the West Wing like the sword of Damocles as the unofficial deadline to find its footing -- or else".

The president made an about-face on China's alleged currency manipulation as he wooed leader Xi Jinping to take a more active role in the face-off with North Korea.
