Steve Stephens, 37, the man suspected of killing Godwin, shot and killed himself Tuesday after a short police pursuit in Erie County, Pennsylvania. State police major William Teper said the trooper who rammed Stephens' vehicle "saw him pull the gun out and shoot himself".

Stephens killed himself in Pennsylvania on Tuesday as he was being chased by state troopers. Authorities in several states are on the lookout for a man police say shot a Cleveland retiree collecting aluminum cans and then posted video of the apparently random killing on Facebook.

On Sunday afternoon, 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr. was shot and killed in Cleveland while walking home from Easter dinner with his family.

The McDonald's employee called police as Stephens proceeded down the drive-thru, DuCharme said.

Stephens, however, would not wait. He's wanted on an aggravated murder charge in the shooting death of a 74-year-old retired man in Cleveland on Sunday. "I snapped", he said, "I just snapped".

She said she tried to reach him after the video was posted on Facebook but he never answered his phone.

According to WICU, an employee at a McDonald's restaurant believed she recognized Stephens as he came through the drive-thru and alerted the supervisor and owner.

In the case of the most recent murder video, almost two hours passed before users reported it on Facebook, according to the company.

On Monday evening, Facebook announced that it was launching a review for reporting harmful content following the killing. And so, I just would want him to know that even in his worst state, he's loved...that God loves him, even in the bad stuff that he did to my dad...even though he's going to have to go through many things to get better, there's worth in him. The suspect, Steve Stephens, later killed himself before surrendering. In the video, Stephens told his victim to say the name of his girlfriend, saying, "She's the reason why this is about to happen to you".
