Arsenal fans must not be divided - manager Arsene Wenger

"I believe yes, it's unjust, as he's man who's truly Arsenal and needs to do well", Wenger told reporters ahead of Monday's trip to Middlesbrough.

Arsenal have collectively struggled on the road this season but no Premier League player has scored more away goals than Alexis Sanchez after he netted his 13th of the campaign three minutes before the break here.

But whatever the outcome of that match, Arsenal know they need a dramatic improvement if they are to qualify for the Champions League for a 21st successive season. Middlesbrough are in a lot of trouble, but a win against Arsenal could change their stars.

"The players are focused and they are conscious that they want to respond [to the Palace defeat]".

While Arsenal are seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, they do have a game in hand and will be looking to make a push for the last slot for next season's Champions League. If their tests are positive, they will come back into the squad for Monday's game.

Steve Agnew takes on Arsene Wenger in his fifth Premier League game as a head coach. I'd rather we missed out on Europe altogether if that's the case, have a season with less football so the club can regroup. Will Wenger be manager at the start of next season?

"Some people tell me "just give him what he wants", but then you can not respect anymore any wage structure and you put the club in trouble as well", said the Arsenal manager.

However Wenger does not seem to believe his warning will be heard, as he continued: "The Spanish players love to play for their country and I think he will go as he loves to play for Spain".

Arsenal have been struggling to put together good team performances for a few weeks, so they'll need their stars to turn in some awesome performances if they have any chance of somehow stealing a Champions League place.

There was some irony over the fact that Arsenal's goal-scoring heroes were both players who have been linked with moves away from the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal must find a way to win tonight and get back in the running for a top five finish.

"We all have to ask searching questions of ourselves and accept responsibility for the defeat".

"There was a bit of nervousness in our dressing room before kick-off because we had not had a good run and that can happen - confidence in life goes away quickly and comes back slowly - but this result helps".
