Former UFC fighter War Machine aka Jon Koppenhaver, was found guilty on more than two-dozen charges in connection with an assault on his ex-girlfriend Christy Mackinday and her friend stemming from his arrest in 2014.

Jury deliberations took just two days in assessing the charges against Koppenhaver, who broke into Mack's house after their romantic break up, attacking both her and Thomas in a sustained, two-hour assault that resulted in serious physical trauma and injuries to both.

Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver, also known as War Machine, was found guilty of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend. Koppenhaver has been incarcerated at High Desert State Prison in Clark County since his arrest on August 15, 2014, in Simi Valley, Calif. Koppenhaver later attempted suicide on October 14, 2014 by hanging himself with a bed linen attached to the leg of his bunk bed.

Koppenhaver was also found guilty of assaulting a male, Corey Thomas, who was in Mack's apartment the day of the attack. Las Vegas detective Daniel Tomaino testified that he "couldn't understand what she was saying but it was because she didn't have teeth".

Mack added, "He looks at me and says now I have to kill you, I've gone too far".

Mack, whose real name is Christine Mackinday, said that after the earlier incident, Koppenhaver told her, "Now I have to kill you because people saw you trying to escape".

Thomas said he allegedly suffered a broken nose, dislocated shoulder, scrapes, bruises and bite marks in the attack. She also had a ruptured liver that prevented doctors from initially operating on her for fear of putting her under anesthesia.

His lawyer conceded the 35-year-old was guilty on charges that relate to punching, kicking and threatening Ms Mack with a knife, and assaulting Mr Thomas in his closing statement.

The former fighter has been in custody in Nevada since then.

Koppenhaver made his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut in 2007.
