In The Dark Tower, Jake, played by Tom Taylor, is an 11-year-old boy who discovers clues pointing him towards another dimension called Mid-World.

But, we finally have the first look poster for the film. Thankfully, King took to Twitter this past weekend to share a first look at the new poster for the upcoming film and it is bound to turn your world upside down. A leaked trailer hit the web back in the fall, and we have seen a few images, but Sony has really been taking their time in promoting it, and that's more than a little concerning.

Rather than being a straight adaptation, The Dark Tower serves as a sequel to King's series and is expected to take place after the events of "The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower".

The movie, which stars national treasure Idris Elba and Wild Turkey fan Matthew McConaughey, is now due to land on July 28th.

After a long a tortuous road to the screen, Hollywood is hoping for big things from the adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower series of novels.

In the books, Roland is something of a wandering knight, the last of his kind on a journey to save Mid-World.

What you see is McConaughey's Man in Black walking down a city street divided in two. He also co-wrote this script alongside Academy Award winners Akiva Goldsman ('I Am Legend", "The Da Vinci Code") and Anders Thomas Jensen ('In a Better World", "After the Wedding'), and Jeff Pinkner ('The Amazing Spider-Man 2', "Fringe').
