Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Hardware, Prices and Improvements Discussed

Samsung Glaaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will run Android 7.0 Nougat along with Samsung's own UI, Samsung Expeience on top.

Ming-Chi Kuo, KGI's noted analyst who has a reputation for being spot-on about Apple, predicted the release date and said Samsung is likely to ship 45 to 50 million units of Galaxy S8 in 2017, according to 9 to 5 Google. The Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch display, while the Galaxy S8+ will have a 6.2-inch display. In the age of Facebook a smartphone with a good camera and WiFi is everything you need. The Wifi certification has been received by Samsung for the J7 2017 - the latest in the J series.


On the positive side, Samsung does have plans for a line of foldable smart devices that could give them a sales boost around the third or fourth quarter, but much of the heavy lifting in terms of sales performance will be up to the Galaxy S8.

As per 9to5Mac's report, Kuo said that apart from its full screen, the Galaxy S8 lacks sufficiently attractive selling points. Considering that Samsung and Synaptics have an ongoing long-term partnership and collaboration, it was not far fetched to believe that the Galaxy S8 could sport something similar. Kuo said that the S7 was Samsung's single flagship phone past year because of Note 7's cancellation.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 should come with several great new features, with the most important being an edge-to-edge, nearly bezel-less screen. Both will feature an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter, and a 12-megapixel one on the back.
