Donald Trump criticised the North Korean leader.

Yun comes to South Korea amid growing concerns over the North's repeated provocations.

According to CNN, Japanese schools are conducting drills to prepare students for the possibility of a North Korean strike on US troops stationed throughout the country.

Yun came right after Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visited South Korea last week as part of his first three-country Asian tour that also took him to Tokyo and Beijing.

Malaysia's once-cosy ties with North Korea have frayed in the wake of Kim Jong Nam's assassination.

After personally overseeing the test, Mr Kim "emphasized that the world will soon witness the great significance of the epoch-making victory we achieved today", KCNA reported, adding that it marked the birth of the country's rocket industry. While in Tokyo he had said that efforts over the past 20 years to prevent a nuclear North Korea had failed.

Saturday's test at the Sohae satellite launching facility in North Pyongan Province measured the thrust power and movement in the engine's combustion chamber, as well as the engine's structural safety and reliability, the Korean Central News Agency said in a report.

Mr Khalid said Pyongyang has yet to offer any assistance in tracking down four North Korean suspects who are believed to have fled Malaysia shortly after Mr Kim was killed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Euan Graham, director of global security at Australia's Lowy Institute, said the North Korea's twin civilian and military rocket programs may have "become so sophisticated they're moving on separate tracks".

The president says administration officials held meetings during the weekend about North Korea, among other issues.

Earlier this month, North Korea fired off four ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan, reportedly reaching within 120 miles of Japan's shoreline.
