No Evidence of Collusion Between Trump, Moscow - US House Intelligence Committee

Both Trump's fellow Republicans as well as Democrats in Congress said they were frustrated by what they consider the intelligence community's failure to provide enough information about any contacts with Russian Federation, as well as Trump's claim, made without evidence, that his predecessor, Democrat Barack Obama, ordered a wiretap of Trump Tower. And I hope that we can put an end to this wild goose chase because what the president said was just patently false, ' the California Democrat said.

Perhaps the committee will want to see Trump's tax returns to determine whether the president has Russian financial entanglements.

"This could be high drama", said Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, which is holding the hearing.

'There was no FISA warrant that I'm aware of to tap Trump Tower, ' the California Republican stated on Fox News Sunday.

"We do know that the I.R.S., for example, targeted citizens" groups who spoke out in defense of the Constitution, who spoke out against Obama, ' he said.

"I'll give you a very simple answer".

Both the House and Senate intelligence committees are now looking into the possibility of Russian interference during the election.

"There was circumstantial evidence of collusion; there is direct evidence, I think, of deception", Mr Schiff said.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said Trump "owes" Congress, and the American people an "explanation" behind his claims.

Devin Nunes, head of the House of Representatives intelligence committee, made the remark on Fox News.

Nunes, however, said the leak involving Michael Flynn was a crime and that the panel was probing whether other names were leaked.

Devin Nunes, the Republican chairman of the U.S. congressional committee on intelligence, said on Sunday: "Everything I have up to this morning - no evidence of collusion". "There's even been stories written about it in numerous newspapers talking about how they said they left breadcrumbs around to hurt the Trump administration". That classified dossier isn't likely to change the position of key lawmakers that there's no evidence Trump was placed under surveillance a year ago by Obama, a USA official told Bloomberg News.

The wiretapping claim was revived Friday, when Trump refused to back down from the claim, citing a Fox News analyst's contention that GCHQ, the British electronic intelligence agency, had helped Obama wiretap Trump. But Cruz said Trump still needs to put forward the facts.

Democrats are expected to push for evidence of any connection between Trump campaign associates and Moscow - and demand to know whether Comey is investigating those reported links. "But there's a lot he can tell us about the Russian motivations for their intervention in our election, how the Russians operate in Europe, what techniques they use, what we should be on the lookout for in our investigation", he said.

"I$3 f there were other surveillance activities where names were picked up and then unmasking occurred, and that was spread throughout the intelligence community, that is very possible, and we don't have the answers to those questions yet".
