California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal crash in which a stolen auto crashed into a large crane, the department said.

At least one person was rushed to the hospital following a car-to-car shooting Thursday night on Highway 101 in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP investigators determined the driver of the Prius continued straight when entering a right curve in the road, the release said.

There is also a bit of fear now among drivers as they think about another auto pulling up next to them and shooting, which is what happened around 7 p.m. Thursday on northbound Highway 101 near Story Road. The sedan driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, the CHP said.

So far this year, there have been 19 freeway shootings resulting in 2 deaths and 3 injuries.

The boy was taken to Regional Medical Center, where he remained this morning for treatment.
