The NCAA released the list of qualifiers for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 28 and it includes juniors Millie Paladino (Morgantown, W. Va.) and Brianna Ilarda (Perth, Australia).

The NCAA Championships are the final event of the 2017 indoor season before transitioning to the outdoor season on March 24-25 at the Weems Baskins Invitational in Columbia, South Carolina. The four qualifiers are the second-most in program history to advance to the NCAA Indoor Championships, while Spires and Tomczak marked the first time since Air Force joined Division I that more than one woman has qualified for the indoor meet.

The 16 highest-ranked athletes who declared their intentions to compete in each individual event earned berths to NCAAs. Martin was also crowned the SEC Indoor Champion in the 200 meters with her seasonal best of 22.92 for the nation's eighth-fastest time, while Johnson earned the final qualifying spot in the field with her seasonal best of 23.26 ahead of the meet.

Also a returning NCAA Indoor Bronze Medalist from a year ago, senior Michael Cherry makes his return to the national meet in the men's 400 meters with the seventh-fastest time in the field at 45.84. She is the first Providence woman to win the mile since Roisin McGettigan won in 2002 and fourth victor in school history. Ilarda began the season at the Boston University Season Opener, where she ran a time of 15:55.91. Joseph's time ranks No. 2 nationally, while Piazza's mark of 1:46.42 is tied for fourth overall on the national list.

Trimble, a two-time All-American (indoors in the 200-meter dash, outdoors in the 110-meter hurdles), is ranked 13th in the 200-meter dash after clocking an Academy- and conference-best time of 20.67 to win the Mountain West title last weekend.

The junior is scheduled to run the 5,000 meter at 8 p.m. March 10 and the 3,000 meter at 6 p.m. March 11.

The St. John's track & field team garnered eight selections to the 2017 All-BIG EAST Indoor Team following the Red Storm's third-place team finish at the two-day championship meet held at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field facility in Staten Island, N.Y.
