Game over: Michigan State falls to Kansas, 90-70

The NCAA Tournament is full of upsets, but this year has been quite tame. MSU's guards outplayed Miami's guards Friday. On Sunday, you're getting beat by #1 Kansas by the same margin. "And they (Jayhawks) were shooting too fast and the pace was too fast and everything, but we're better when we have pace".

What went wrong and what's next?

Jackson, the Detroit native who played his last two high school seasons at Prolific Prep in Napa, Calif., after leading Detroit Consortium to a state title as a sophomore, picked Kansas over Michigan State last spring and it proved to be the right choice for him.

Coleby's inside bucket off a rebound came in a 13-4 second-half run that increased a 54-53 lead at 12:14 to 67-57 with 8:06 to play.

It's a similar refrain, but the Spartans lack of productive bench talent ended up burning them.

But it was Jackson who shook off misses on his first three shot attempts - including an embarrassing failed dunk attempt - who shined the most in his second straight dominating performance in the tournament.

The Spartans closed the gap and got the lead down to five points entering the break.

Moe Wagner scored a career-high 26 points and spurred a furious second-half rally to send MI past second-seeded Louisville 73-69 on Sunday and into the Sweet 16. But they can score with anybody and they can run. they're one of the best teams in the country. Mason isn't even the most athletic guard or the best shooter on his own team. I think Josh Jackson and Miles Bridges will be a wash, and it will come down to whether Frank Mason III can exploit Michigan State's young guards. Cassius Winston, Joshua Langford and Nick Ward who all played big roles as rookies for the Spartans and helped the squad overcome the loss steady senior scorer Eron Harris to a season-ending injury in February.

#8 Arkansas vs #1 North Carolina. He held his side in pain and left the game and went into the locker room before returning shortly after. After the slam, he apparently barked at a Spartan player was called for a technical. You know, with 12 minutes left it's a one-point game. It's not that there weren't plans to solve all of those issues (actually there were three named Eron Harris, Gavin Schilling and Ben Carter) but that's just how things ended up.

"Nothing remotely dirty at all", said Kansas coach Bill Self, an Izzo fan.

"And that's just get after it, do the little things, do the dirty work and do it well". But I had to fight through for my team. Off the top of my head. All three have a chance to be special, like, now.

Izzo is no stranger when it comes to knowing Josh Jackson.

A four-point play by Lecomte put the Bears up 69-67.

In addition to the new guys, relative old man Gavin Schilling will be healthy and bring a defensive presence down low that MSU did not have this year. They both were in Honolulu for the Armed Forces Classic in November and then, days later, in NY for the Champions Classic. Tum Tum can also continue his never-ending quest for a jump shot. Can Tom Izzo Tom Izzo once again in March? No more stretch-four Ahrens. "No more sub 6'7" lineups.

2016-17 is over and now our #BridgesWatch begins.
