There are also fresh concerns over star player Mesut Ozil's commitment to Arsenal, with reports suggesting the German playmaker could leave in the summer, even if Wenger stays.

Arsenal's links to Tuchel come as increasingly large sections of the Premier League club's support demand the manager is replaced, with a "Wenger Out" banner flown over the Hawthorns before the weekend game.

The Gunners boss, 67, was speaking following his side's 3-1 humbling at the hands of West Brom - where he also blamed the refereeing decisions for the loss.

When asked by The Sun whether he thought Wenger would stay, Pulis said: "I'll be surprised if he goes".

The protests against Wenger carrying on as boss next season have reached fever pitch in recent weeks, with mass mass demonstrations in and around the Emirates before and after games.

The Arsenal manager is out of contract at the end of the season, and results have been disappointing this term-with the Gunners humiliated by Bayern Munich in the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.

The 43-year-old guided his side to second in the Bundesliga in his first season, and his team have made it to the quarter-finals in the Champions League this year.

Tuchel has a 62% win percentage during his time at Dortmund.
