A 14-year-old boy from Kerala has become a father, after begetting a child with a girl four years older than him, in Kochi, about 200 kms from Thiruvananthapuram.

The young mother gave birth to a baby girl a few months ago at a hospital in Ernakulam. The paternity of the baby was confirmed through genetic profiling of the girl child and the boy. Further, the police will be conducting a DNA test to clarify the claim made by the girl that the nabbed boy is the father of the newly born girl child.

It probably is the first case in India of a boy who is a child himself has fathered a baby! In this condition, a child attains puberty at a much earlier age. The baby was only 18-days-old at the time of analysis. The police have reportedly booked both of them under the 2012 Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and are probing the case.

The court allowed the Kalamassery police to profile the boy's DNA, after which the POCSO Act was slapped on him.

Usually, similarity in DNA is found in the case of identical twins.

The infant has been handed over to a childcare institution. The state human rights commission has registered a suo moto case. The Commission can not be judgmental in the case and rush into any action as both the perpetrator and the victim are children, she said. In the year 2015, 1570 cases were registered under Act.
