Upcoming Red Cross blood drives

March is Red Cross Month, and the American Red Cross is inviting the community to be part of its lifesaving mission by giving blood. "Thanks to generous blood donors, I still have a wife and my kids still have their mom. I also scheduled what days and times would work best". Donors of all blood types, especially type O, are needed to help those rely on blood products.

The American Red Cross is asking for blood and platelet donors to make a donation appointment.

The Red Cross is extending hours at many donation sites for more donors to give blood or platelets. He has needed them during treatment and will need more as treatment continues over the next two years.

There will be a blood drive in Watertown from 1:45 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, at First Congregational Church, 40 DeForrest Street. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

9 a.m.to 2 p.m. March 1 at Cardington Lincoln High School, 349 Chesterville Ave. Donation appointments and completion of a RapidPass online health history questionnaire are encouraged to help speed up the donation process. Each blood donation saves three lives.

It's the third blood drive in Kokomo given in Gradyn's name, and the second sponsored by the American Red Cross.
