Toyota, Australia's number one selling vehicle brand, has another reason to smile this morning - the title of the Most Admired auto Company in the World.

Fortune magazine named U.S. Bancorp the world's most admired superregional bank today, the seventh consecutive year that it has topped the list.

"Toyota is proud to be listed once again as among the world's most admired companies", said Jim Lentz, Toyota Motor North America chief executive officer.

Fortune's World's Most Admired Companies are determined by a survey of executives, directors and analysts rating companies in their industry on a series of criteria. "This recognition honors the commitment of our team to continuous improvement and exceeding customer expectations". The Fortune ranking list is available here. The survey included about 1,500 candidates: the 1,000 largest USA companies ranked by revenue, along with non-U.S. companies in Fortune's Global 500 database that have revenues of $10 billion or more.

Fortune collaborated with Korn Ferry Hay Group to determine the best-regarded companies in 51 industries.

The "World's Most Admired Companies" survey measures nine attributes considered critical to a company's global success, including quality of management, social responsibility, people management and global competitiveness, among others. The top 5 companies on the 2017 World's Most Admired list are Apple, Amazon, Starbucks, Berkshire Hathaway and Walt Disney.
