He's helmed a doco, a series and a bunch of music videos (the latter under the alias Bartholomew Cubbins) and now Jared Leto is making his feature directorial debut with Paramount's crime thriller "77".

David Matthews (Narcos, Boardwalk Empire) penned the latest draft of the screenplay; the original script was written by L.A. Confidential author James Ellroy. They uncover corruption and crime in their investigation, as well as a dark conspiracy. Much like his involvement in the aforementioned doc Into the Wild, Leto will also hold a producing role on the project.

This, however, is not Jared's first time directing.

The Oscar victor, Suicide Squad actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman, previously directed the documentary Artifact, as well as a number of music videos and commercials under the pseudonym Bartholomew Cubbins.

Hearst hid out in Los Angeles that year with the Symbionese Liberation Army and managed to escape from a shootout with the LAPD at an Inglewood sporting goods store. Paradox's Emma Ludbrook will serve as 77's executive producer.

Leto, most recently seen in Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad, will next be seen inBlade Runner 2049, directed by Denis Villeneuve.
