When one of her Twitter followers responded "If Patriots win we go on a date?"

Fair play to Bouchard, a Sports Illustrated swimwear model as well as a famous tennis player, she stuck to her word and enjoyed a night in NY at the basketball with the guy in question, John Goehrke.

Oh, and by the way, the date was on the same day as Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition - in which Bouchard featured prominently - hit the shelves.

He could have been insane for all she knew but it turns out the University of Missouri student is actually a pretty normal guy.

It seems it clearly wasn't as the 22-year-old shared a cosy selfie with her date from the back of a cab.

At the Australian Open in 2015, Genie was asked to give the crowd a twirl and talk about her outfit after crushing her opponent, an awkward moment which saw the Canadian get uncomfortably and hesitant.

Genie Bouchard lost a bet and a fan won bragging rights forever.

With all this in mind, the Canadian tennis star fired off the following tweet.

University student John Goehrke was the biggest victor, earning himself a dream date with Bouchard after waging a bet over the outcome of the match that she was quick to honour. I didn't know what he looked like.

20-year-old Patriots fan John Goehrke tweeted Bouchard betting a date that his team would come from behind to triumph and she accepted.

Another important lesson here, besides never betting against Brady, is that the internet can really do anything. But one fan had a wager for her. The Chicago native praised Bouchard for going ahead with the date despite his anonymity.

Bouchard watches the Nets-Bucks game with Goehrke from her courtside seats at the Barclays Center.
